About Us

New Here?

We are a growing multiracial, multicultural church with a deep sense of family/community. Our vision to develop leaders with sustainable character reflects on how we worship and what you can expect here at Jesus House Elkridge (JHE). The teachings of Jesus are infused throughout JHE’s worship experience from the contemporary Christian music to the practical and biblical-based preaching.

Our services last 120 minutes and include Sunday school, live dynamic praise and worship, fervent congregational prayers and a clear, practical and inspiring message. We do not have dress codes during any of our services so we expect you to come as you are.

We have a total worship experience designed for you and your whole family. We have a vibrant kidz church for children in Preschool – 5th Grade and a Youth church for Grades 6-12 (Middle & High School).
We invite you to dive into a deeper relationship with God through JHE’s small groups and our volunteer opportunities within the church and around our community.

Our Vision

To Develop Leaders with sustainable character (DLSC).

Purpose of the Vision: To glorify God by making fruitful disciples and new community of believers who through quality leadership can demonstrate the nature of God on earth.

Our Mission

Developing A new Generation of Leaders through the Word of God who will eventually impact our world.

What We Believe

At Jesus House Elkridge, our faith is rooted in the timeless truths of the Bible. Here is a summary of the core foundations that guide everything we do.

Our Triune God

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • The Father: The Creator of all things, who formed us in His own image and likeness.

  • The Son: Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man.

  • The Holy Spirit: Our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide who lives within us and unites us to Christ.

The Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the ultimate expression of God’s love.

  • His Sacrifice: He died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. His shed blood cleanses us and gives us direct access to God’s presence.

  • His Victory: On the third day, He rose from the dead in glory and ascended to Heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He is the Name above all names.

  • His Return: We look forward with hope to His second coming, when He will return in power to bring us into His presence for eternity.

Salvation & Grace

Salvation is a free gift from God—it cannot be earned; it is received through faith. By turning from sin and trusting in Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are “born again” by the Holy Spirit.

The Empowered Life

We believe God wants His people to live with purpose and power.

  • The Holy Spirit’s Power: We believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to every believer, often evidenced by the gift of speaking in tongues, to empower us for service.

  • The Bible: The Holy Bible is God’s infallible Word, our authoritative guide for life and salvation.

  • Character & Fruit: As we grow in God, His Spirit produces “fruit” in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

  • Our Mandate: We are called to fulfill God’s original plan: to be fruitful, multiply, and exercise godly dominion—making a positive impact on the world around us.

Core Values

Our values are the heartbeat of Jesus House Elkridge. They define how we love God, how we treat one another, and how we live our lives every day.

1. Our Commitment to God

  • The Pursuit of God: We have a deep hunger for His presence. We seek to know Him more through worship, the Word, and a consistent life of prayer.

  • Christlikeness: Our goal is to live like Jesus. We aim to reflect His compassion, mercy, and power in everything we do, led by the Holy Spirit.

  • The Mercy of God: We humbly recognize that every blessing is a gift of God’s mercy. Because He is merciful to us, we are committed to extending that same mercy to others.

  • Simplicity & Sincerity: In our worship and our walk, we value authenticity over “show.” We do everything for God’s glory, not for effect.

2. Our Commitment to Family

  • Thriving Families: We believe in cultivating a home environment where parents lead by example and children can grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially.

  • Marital Fidelity: We honor marriage as a sacred bond where husband and wife can fully depend on each other for support, intimacy, and friendship.

  • Purposeful Singleness: We celebrate our single members and the unique way their season of life allows them to bless the church and focus on God’s work.

3. Our Commitment to Each Other

  • Valuing the Individual: Every person is a gift. We treat everyone with respect and courtesy, regardless of their background, helping each member reach their full God-given potential.

  • Unity: We believe that all followers of Jesus belong to one Body. We work hard to maintain harmony and support the growth and prosperity of the Church.

  • Servant Leadership: Our leaders follow the example of Christ—serving selflessly and putting the needs of the church family above their own.

4. Our Commitment to Integrity

  • Integrity & Truth: We conduct our affairs honestly and truthfully, ensuring our lifestyle never brings reproach to the Gospel.

  • Generosity: We believe in giving ourselves to God’s cause first, then sharing our material blessings with a cheerful and willing heart.

  • Modesty & Grace: We seek to live balanced, modest lives—gracious in our speech, firm in our convictions, and honorable in our conduct.
